Security Lighting
You can enhance the appearance and safety of your business for customers and employees, and let CU handle the maintenance. Flexible payment arrangements for installation and connections are available. The monthly service includes all upkeep and is conveniently added to your utility bill.

Hot Spot Detection (Infrared Thermography)
"Hot spots" in your system can cause failure of electrical connections in breaker panels, buss work, transformers, and motors. They are invisible except to specialized infrared thermography equipment, and undetected, they can cause expensive equipment breakdowns and major service interruptions. The potential hazards of "hot spots" should not be ignored, so make CU a part of your regularly scheduled preventive maintenance program by calling 417-863-9000 (press "1") for an appointment today.

Renewable Energy
The Noble Hill Landfill Renewable Energy Center began delivering electricity to CU customers in May 2006. Methane gas produced by the City of Springfield's landfill is harnessed at the generator, providing 3.2 megawatts of electricity to CU customers. The joint project uses a previously discarded byproduct to produce energy for the community.

CU offers renewable, wind-generated electricity imported from a Kansas wind farm. WindCurrent is available for your business in blocks of 100 kilowatt-hours for only $5 more per block than the cost of your regular electricity.

CU's commitment to the environment has led to many energy research projects, utilizing wind, solar and landfill sources. For more information on these projects, including the Noble Hill Landfill Renewable Energy Center, visit our Renewable Energy section.
