City Utilities provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to attract and keep quality employees. Our benefits for full-time employees include:

  • Health Insurance
    • Coverage effective immediately (pre-existing conditions exclusion applies)
    • Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) with St. John’s Health System
    • Employee coverage provided at no cost
    • Dependent coverage available at group rates

  • On-Site Medical Clinic
    • Primary Care Clinic providing treatment for general illnesses, routine physicals, and nonwork-related injuries
    • Employees and eligible dependents covered on the Health Plan are eligible to use the clinic at no cost

  • Life Insurance
    • Provided for employees at two times their annual salary

  • Voluntary Group Insurance Plans
    Purchase the following group insurance coverage through pre-tax or post-tax payroll deductions:
    • Dependent Health Insurance
    • Dental Insurance
    • Vision Insurance

  • Vacation
    • One week after six months of employment
    • Annual accruals based on years of service
    • Two paid personal days per year

  • Sick Leave Benefits
    • 40 hours after six months of employment
    • Annual accruals accumulate up to 1,040 hours
    • 80 hours of sick leave may be used annually to care for family members

  • Holidays
    • 11 designated holidays per calendar year

    • Tuition assistance for course work directly related to the employee’s current job duties or business activities of City Utilities
