You may change the password for your account by logging-in to your Careers Home page and going to the My Career Tools box > My Profile link > Change Password link.
If you forget your user name or password after registering, you may access the Login Help link on the Careers page. You are then given the option to:
Get a new password
In the "Forget Your Password" group box, enter your user name in the Enter your User Name field and click Get New Password. A temporary password will be emailed to you and you. You must have entered an email address in the system to utilize this option.
Find your user name
In the "Forget Your User Name" group box, enter your email address in the Enter your Email Address field and click Find User Name. Your User Name will be emailed to you. You must have entered an email address in the system to utilize this option.
You cannot make changes to an Application once it has been submitted. If you need to make changes to your information, contact the Employment Office at (417) 831-8460 for assistance. Applicants may view all submitted job applications in the My Applications scroll area on the My Career Tools page.
You may save a draft of your online application and submit the application at a later time. To save a draft, click the Save button. The job application appears in the My Applications scroll area on the My Career Tools page with a status of Not Applied. To view an application in draft status, click on the position title to access the application, make changes if needed, and resave as a draft or submit.
Be as accurate as possible when completing any information on your application, including dates of employment. Be sure to read all questions thoroughly and fill the application out completely. Recruiters use the information included in the Employment Application to determine your qualifications. Failure to follow the directions on the application may lead to disqualification.
A resume is optional and may be submitted in addition to the completed application packet. Other documents, such as transcripts or certificates are also optional.
You may submit attachments by using the My Career Tools box, My Attachments and Cover Letters - Add Attachments page. If necessary, Employment will request hard copies of any documents not submitted on-line.
If you already have a hard copy application on file, it will be necessary for you to create a new online application within the new system in order to apply for another position. Any job vacancies posted after September 8, 2009 will require an on-line application.
Your Careers page will be kept active for a period of one year. If no activity occurs within one years’ time, your Careers page will become inactive and will be purged from our system. If this happens, you will need to register as a new applicant to create a new profile within the system.
Typically, a large number of qualified applicants apply for each job vacancy. In some instances, only top candidates out of a pool of applicants are chosen for interviews or testing. You may ask to be reconsidered for any future openings by contacting the Employment Office.
All offers of employment are contingent upon an applicant’s references, criminal and driving record, passing a post-offer physical (based on the job description and any physical requirements that may exist) and passing a drug screen or any other applicable tests, including vision tests. We do not contact current employers and will not contact references without permission from the applicant.
All application packets become property of City Utilities and copies of your application cannot be made or returned to the applicant. You can access previously submitted application information by logging into your account and viewing the My Applications scroll area on the My Career Tools page with a status of Applied. Click on the position title to access the application content. Click Close Application to take you back to your My Career Tools page.
