About the Program:
City Utilities electric residential, multi-family and residential new construction customers who purchase and install a geothermal heat pump system may qualify for a rebate of $200 per Ton and $25 for each additional Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) over the ENERGY STAR® minimum efficiency standard qualifications. Geothermal heat pumps are similar to air-source heat pumps, but use the ground temperature instead of outside air to provide heating, air conditioning and, in many cases, hot water.
Because they use the earth’s natural heat, they are among the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies currently available. Nearly 50% of a home’s energy consumption is attributed to heating and cooling. So making wise decisions about your home’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems can have a big effect on your comfort level and utility usage. For this reason, City Utilities is offering a rebate to help make this energy efficient decision more affordable. Certain restrictions apply; see guidelines on rebate form.
