Springfield’s utility bills are second lowest in recent survey

In a recently released 2008 Utility Bill Comparison for Selected Cities, conducted by Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW), Springfield’s average monthly residential utility bill was the second lowest of 30 selected cities.

The combined utility bills for 1000 kWh of electricity, 200 therms of natural gas, 5 ccf of water, and 5 ccf of wastewater service represents an average, total customer bill for these services. The prices are based on rates in effect at the utilities on January 1, 2008.
