   Safety Village: Teacher Feature
Cartoon Teacher Education & safety go hand in hand and are a lot like energy - they're powerful!

We use electricity and natural gas safely everyday, but knowing what to do in an emergency or accident could save a life and your home, business or school. Learn what to do in case of electric shock or fire and what to do if you smell natural gas!

City Utilities wants your children and students to stay safe!

CU’s Safety Village is a great way to teach children about electrical safety. Our trained technicians bring the village to your classroom or group meeting to demonstrate ways to stay safe around electricity. The program is a great addition to the fourth grade student science curriculum.

CU Technician demonstrating electrical safety. The Safety Village depicts distribution lines and transformers, similar to your own neighborhood, but on a much smaller scale. Our technicians discuss the safety gear they use while working around high voltage equipment, along with the importance for others to keep a safe distance away.

Student curiosity is satisfied when technicians explain why birds and squirrels can play along power lines, but people cannot. Schedule a free presentation today by submitting an online request or by calling (417) 831-8505.
