Public Meeting Scheduled to Discuss Elevated Water Tank Sites

A public meeting will be held on August 1, from 4-6 p.m., at Hickory Hills K-8 School, to discuss sites under consideration for an elevated water storage tank. The area in the northeast portion of the service territory has recently seen considerable residential and commercial growth with additional construction expected in the future.

The elevated water storage tank will address issues of water supply, water pressure, and provide additional fire suppression capability to this area.

 

Mayor Issues Proclamation to CU for Renewable Energy Efforts

Mayor Ken McClure today issued a proclamation on behalf of the City of Springfield honoring CU for the work done since 2002 to provide renewable energy resources to its customers. CU has approximately one-third of its power generation provided by renewable sources and is working to acquire more while providing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible energy to its customers. Mayor McClure also provided a video with his comments that will be available on the CU and City of Springfield’s social media channels.

 

2018 Budget Discussions Begin in August

The Board of Public Utilities will hold several meetings during August to discuss the 2018 fiscal year budget for City Utilities. The proposed budget will be available for viewing on the CU website on July 28 with the fiscal year for CU running from October 1 to September 30.
