Semi-annual Electric and Natural Gas Fuel Cost Adjustments

Every six-months City Utilities adjusts the Electric and Natural Gas fuel cost factor to ensure actual costs are appropriately recovered.

As a result of the latest semi-annual fuel cost adjustment, electric customers of City Utilities using an average of 1,000 kWh, can expect to pay approximately $2.10 less each month on average for service during the months of April through September 2019, compared to the same period last year.

During the same time period, residential natural gas customers, using the expected summer average of 30 therms, can expect to pay $0.20 less per month less for natural gas over the next six months.

Average residential customer usage includes 1,000 kWh of electricity and 30 therms of natural gas per month during the summer season. The estimation of fuel usage is based upon historical weather data, customer demand, and market costs.
