5 Awesome Family Spots You Can Access By Bus
A fun family outing is only a bus ride away in Springfield! May 12-17, we’ve partnered with Ozark Greenways for Bike, Walk & Wheel Week to encourage you to use an active mode of transportation to get somewhere that week! To help you plan a day out for the family, we’ve compiled our five favorite family-friendly places and how you can get there on The Bus.
Wonders of Wildlife
Check out one of Springfield’s latest and greatest attractions! On the bustling corner of Campbell and Sunshine, Wonders of Wildlife is easily accessible. Jump on the 36-SW Loop-Pink and get off on the Sunshine & Wedgewood stop. From the Transit Center, catch the 7-Campbell-Red and get off on the Campbell & Sunshine (SE) stop. You’ll need to cross Campbell at the crosswalk.
Cheer on the home team at a baseball game! There’s no need to worry about parking fees when you ride the bus. Both the 12-National/Glenstone-Maroon and the 5-Glenstone/National-Blue will drop you off one block south of the stadium at the corner of St. Louis & Hammons Pkwy.
The Library Center
The 7-Campbell-Red stops on Lyon right outside The Library Center. It’s easy to access from anywhere in town and they have many great programs for the whole family next week!
Dickerson Park Zoo
Make memories and meet some new animal friends at Springfield’s own zoo. Get there on the 14-Atlantic-Brown or 38-North Loop-Green. The stop at Norton & Fort is just across the street from the zoo.
Our last stop is for some STEM fun at the Discovery Center! The stop at St. Louis & Benton is serviced by both the 12-National/Glenstone-Maroon and the 5-Glenstone/National-Blue.
