CU’s New Leadership: Meet Amy and Brent
Meet Amy Derdall
Our new Associate General Manager – Chief Financial Officer, Amy, returns to City Utilities from Black Hills Corporation, a diversified energy company based in Rapid City, South Dakota. While at Black Hills Corporation, she served in numerous roles including her most recent position, Director of Regulatory and Finance, before returning to City Utilities.
“I’m excited to again be part of City Utilities and look forward to the opportunity to work with a leader in a community-owned utility,” Amy said. “CU is well known and respected for its forward thinking and ability to provide exceptional services to the customers.”
Amy held several previous roles at CU from 1998 through 2009 including Manager – Payroll, Manager – Business Unit Reporting, Administrator – Corporate Reporting, and Director of Financial Reporting.
Meet Brent Baker
Brent, City Utilities’ Associate General Manager – Customer Operations and Communications, comes to us from Liberty Utilities in Joplin. He was the Vice President of National Customer Experience Operations where he developed and implemented strategies to create a consistent customer experience across 13 states, 300 employees, and 32 customer service offices.
“I look forward to working with, not only the staff at CU, but also directly with our customers,” Brent said. “This is an exciting time in the utility industry with many changes on the horizon. Helping to implement these advances and educate our customers of the benefits is rewarding.”
From 1998 to 2000, Brent served as a Co-op Engineer in our Water Engineering group. He a native of Republic and he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
