Miller Park Dedication

Jul 24, 2021

Fellows Lake Recreation Area is now Miller Park

During a ceremony held earlier today, the existing park and recreation area near Fellows Lake Marina was formally named, and dedicated, as Miller Park.

Named in honor of former City Utilities General Manager Scott Miller, Miller Park is just one of the many changes the Fellows Lake site is experiencing. “My family, and I, are very honored to not only be part of this wonderful community but we are excited to see how the lake, and area around it can be a site to enjoy the outdoors and protect the primary source of water for Springfield.” Said Scott Miller, retired City Utilities General Manager.

In addition to Miller Park, a new 28 slip marina is under construction to replace the original marina that was in use since the late 1950’s, and several sections of a hiking and biking trail, that will eventually be around the entire lake, are now open.

The Watershed Committee of the Ozarks will manage the marina and store, and is renting kayaks, canoes, motorized boats, and items for visitors to the lake.
