Communities in Motion Week & Transit Optimization Study
During the week of June 12 – 16, City Utilities Transit Services will join public transit communities across the nation as they recognize Communities in Motion Week. Communities in Motion Week emphasizes the benefits of public transportation in their communities. More details on events during this week will soon be available and provided on social media.
The Springfield Transit Optimization Study, led by Olsson Associate, continues to receive comments on ideas to improve the future of public transportation in the Springfield area. For more information on the study and its findings, visit connectsgf.net. The study is expected to be complete by the end of 2023.
CU Recognized for Reliable Electric Operations
City Utilities has earned gold level designation of the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) program of the American Public Power Association (APPA), for providing reliable and safe electric service. The RP3 designation recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four disciplines: reliability, safety, workplace development, and system improvement.
Memorial Day Schedule for CU Transit and other area
CU Transit Services will operate routes on a modified holiday schedule on Monday, May 29, with hourly bus service using routes and schedules normally operated nightly and on Sundays. Service will begin at the Transit Center at 8:10 a.m.; with the last trip leaving the Transit Center at 5:10 p.m. Access Express bus service will be available from 8:10 a.m. until 6:10 p.m. on Monday, May 29. City Utilities main office at 301 E. Central, and all other CU offices, will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, 2023.
