Environmental Responsibility
The commitment of City Utilities to responsible stewardship of our natural resources is ongoing as efforts continue to safeguard our community’s environment.
- City Utilities has a long-standing partnership with and provides financial support for the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks, a local group charged with the protection of Springfield’s watershed.
- City Utilities has been a Tree Line USA utility since 1994, recognized for our commitment to delivering safe and reliable electricity while maintaining healthy trees within our service area.
- Since 1999, City Utilities has been awarded the Environmental Protection Agency Partnership for Safe Water Program – Directors Certificate. City Utilities received this award in recognition of efforts to achieve excellence in water quality beyond what is required by federal regulations.
- City Utilities continually searches for environmentally friendly alternatives for producing energy. The CU Solar Initiative was one such program in our portfolio of renewable energy.
Energy Management
City Utilities Energy Services and Renewables staff is available to help business and residential customers actively manage their water and energy usage. Resources are offered through CU’s popular EnergyWise and WaterWise programs, offering rebates, audits and other incentives.
