Job Openings

Where are the job listings and how often are they updated?

Job vacancies are updated on the CU Online Career Center when a vacancy occurs or when a position is filled.

May I apply for an opening not posted?

No, we can only accept applications for open positions.

 

Before I Apply

Are qualifications and pay provided for each job?

Qualifications are provided online through the job posting.  Salary information is also listed on the job posting and can also be obtained by calling the CU Recruitment Office at (417) 831-8460.

What types of benefits do you offer?

Do you require drug tests or physical exams?

All offers of employment are contingent upon an applicant’s references, criminal and driving record, passing a post-offer physical (based on the job description and physical requirements that may exist), and passing a drug screen or any other applicable tests, including a vision test for some positions.

Do you contact current employers?

Yes, but only with permission.

Do you contact references?

Yes, but only with your permission.

May I meet with someone in the Recruitment Office?
Applicants may schedule an appointment to discuss career goals and job opportunities at CU. Contact the Recruitment Office at (417) 831-8460 to schedule an appointment.

 

My Current Application

I applied before. Is my application still valid?

As of June 3, 2019, all candidates will have to apply on our new system. Once you have an online application saved under your profile, you will just need to update your information for each position that you wish to be considered.

Can I get a copy of my previously submitted application?

All applications are the property of CU and copies cannot be made or returned to the applicant. You can access your information by logging into the CU Online Career Center and viewing My Jobpage.

 

User Name & Password

What if I forgot my username or password?

Next to the My Account Options button, click on Sign In. Choose either Forgot your password or Forgot your User Name and enter the appropriate information and click on the appropriate button. If you entered an email address in your profile section, a temporary password or your user name will be emailed to you.

How do I change my password?

Once you sign in to the system, you will open into the My Account Options. It gives you the option to change your password.

 

Applying for a Job Online

How do I apply online?

From your home or public computer, or the computer kiosks located at CU’s Recruitment Office located at 301 East Central, click on CU Online Career Center, locate the job you wish to be considered for, and click Apply. This will direct you through the application process.

How do I start?

If this is your first time, you must register by creating a User Name and Password. You will then be asked to complete your profile and the remaining screens.  Be sure to read all questions thoroughly and answer all questions.  Failure to follow directions may result in your application being disqualified.

I’m not sure about my employment history dates. Can I estimate?

Be as accurate as possible when completing your application.

Should I attach documents such as my diploma, transcripts, certificates and resume?

Attaching related documents are optional but are highly recommended. You may submit documents online through the application process. You can upload your attachments under the File Attachments screen of the application process.

Do I need to complete the Application Self-Identification Form?

I'm not ready to submit my information. May I save and come back later?

You may save a draft and submit the application at a later time.  Simply click the Save as Draft button.  To review later, go to the My Jobpage tab, then click My Submissions.  Click on Finish Draft Submission located under the job information.

I submitted my application. How can I be sure it went through correctly?

You should receive an email notification provided you entered an email address on your profile.

I submitted my application. Can I make changes?

No. Once your application has been submitted for a particular position, it cannot be edited for that position.

I’m having problems completing the online application? Who can I call?

Contact the CU Recruitment Office at (417) 831-8460.

 

What Happens Next?

I’ve submitted my application. What are the next steps?

All applications are reviewed by the CU Recruitment Office and candidates will be contacted if chosen for testing and/or an interview.

I received an interview. Will I be notified if I am not selected?

Yes, you will receive notification stating the position has been filled.

I feel I am qualified for a position, but did not receive a call or an interview. Is there anything different I can do for future job openings?

CU typically receives a large number of qualified applicants for each job opening. In some instances, only top candidates out of a pool of applicants are chosen for interviews or testing.
