Community Outreach

City Utilities and its employees are committed to improving the quality of life in our community through employee giving, volunteer programs, and educational opportunities.

The Central Advantage

CU’s partnership with Central High School is designed to help today’s students become tomorrow’s successful workforce. The utility provides employee volunteer time and resources to keep children in school and facilitate the school-to-work transition. The program covers team building, goal setting, budgeting, conflict resolution, and career exploration.

Halloween Hustle

An annual fall event to raise money for a local charity, this 10k/5k run is filled with Halloween fun. Registration includes a race shirt, trick-or-treating on the course for everyone, music, and post-race snacks. Prizes are awarded to the fastest runners and the best costumes.

Employee Fundraising

A long-time tradition for City Utilities is employee participation in the annual campaign supporting our local United Way. Employees continue to be recognized in the community for their level of giving.
