Call Before You Dig

Missouri law requires anyone who plans to excavate on their property to notify Missouri One Call at least two working days in advance of digging to allow for underground services to be located and marked by a professional locator.

It’s a Simple Call
Don’t take chances with underground electric, natural gas, or water utilities; sewer; or communication lines that are buried at varying depths.  Avoid delays and expensive damage repairs. Request a FREE locate by calling 811 or visit www.mo1call.com.  Once your underground lines have been marked, you will know the approximate location of your underground services and can dig safely.

Respect the marks.  Dig with care.

Red – Electric
Yellow – Gas
Blue – Water
Orange – Communications
Green – Sewer

After Your Utilities Have Been Marked
When digging, make sure to always dig around the marks, not on them.  Some utility lines may be buried at a shallow depth, and an unintended shovel thrust can bring you right back to square one – facing potentially dangerous and/or costly consequences.

Don’t forget that with time, erosion or root structure growth may shift the locations of your utility lines, so remember to call again before you dig.
