Commercial Lighting Rebate
You can save energy and money – and increase the lighting quality – by upgrading to more efficient lighting at your business. City Utilities Commercial Lighting Rebate program will help you upgrade your exterior lighting with efficient alternatives to save energy and maintenance costs. Upgrade your warehouse and production area High bay lighting to more efficient technologies. Lower annual lighting costs in the interior of your facility by updating T12 fixtures with energy efficient T8 lamps and electronic ballasts, or upgrade to LED fixtures. Switch to LED exit signs and add occupancy sensors to save money when lighting isn’t needed.

Who’s Eligible: CU commercial customers with electric service
- Exterior Lighting
Exterior lighting is defined as canopy, soffit and wall pack fixtures, security lighting, parking lot and parking garage fixtures.
- High Bay Lighting
High Bay lighting is defined as lighting applications with ceilings of 15 feet or higher (warehouses, gymnasiums, etc.).
- Interior Lighting
Interior lighting includes fluorescent or HID fixtures found in offices, conference rooms, stairways, and other common areas in a typical commercial building.
- LED Exit Signs
Existing incandescent or compact fluorescent exit signs replaced with LED exit signs qualify for the rebate.
- Occupancy Sensors
Occupancy sensors installed on new or existing lighting qualify for the rebate. Occupancy sensors must be wall/switch, fixture, or ceiling mounted.
- Complete Commercial Lighting .
- Complete the Commercial Lighting Rebate Application.
- CU’s Energy Services & Renewables department will contact you to schedule an on-site pre-evaluation inspection to discuss the Program Guidelines, verify the existing lighting system and receive approval for the project. (Any work completed prior to the pre-evaluation inspection will not be eligible for the rebate.)

Many qualified contractors are able to perform efficiency upgrades. Choose one from the list of contractors registered with City Utilities, or select one of your own to perform the work.
